Thrift Store Goodies

I scored at a Thrift Store the other day and found the perfect little table to complete a seating area for my living room that I have been working on.  I thought it would be fun to take a picture and show all the thrift store goodies I found  that helped complete this look.  Now...

You know that I love that table! We should go shopping sometime soon so you can show me the best places.

Why is it that when you purchase items at a thrifty locale, it’s put together like an HGTV cover shot and when I do it looks like I should leave it out for the trash (and I guess, for your friend, Rhesa to pick-up before the sun rises:>)? Curse you creative types.

Cute! I love how you’re incorporating “fun” into the decorating scheme of this house. It really suits you.

I tried thrifting the other day in the city- I’m just too cheap to pay those prices. Really, the BEST bargains are getting up early on trash day. (Could I sound any more white trash?)

love it! Don’t know about Tulsa but there is a GREAT place in KC… I’m just saying…..

LOVE THIS!Will you please come decorate my house? Thanks.

Introducing: THE HEARTH ROOM.

Several people have asked when I would post pictures of my new house.  Well, I haven’t yet for two main reasons really: 1.  I haven’t had any rooms ready to show yet!  It is going to take a LONG time, yes it is.  I am trying to be patient, really I am.  But those of...

I love your hearth room and the rest of your house! The bookshelves and the window seat are awesome. I’m glad that Alayna was able to convince those guys to go with your vision.

Gina

I love your whole house–especially the kitchen/hearth room….and now I am obsessed with the picture you got your inspriation from. What magazines did you use? I’m starying to put together a file for us.

Stunning! Carissa, you are talented in so many ways. I can’t tell you how much I would love to have your ‘eye’ for decorating! If these photos were in a magazine, I would absolutely rip them out and put them in my inspiration folder!

AMAZING! Love every detail of this room… and those chairs, I think I need them! GREAT job and good for you standing your ground, it looks like it belongs in Southern Living article :)

First Day of Kindergarten

Well my baby boy started Kindergarten a few weeks ago.  I will have you know that I made it out alive even though I was experiencing some serious Kindergarten Blues in the days and weeks leading up to the actual “big day.”  Here are some pictures from his first day.  Daddy stayed home to take...

That last picture put a knot in my throat….Not sure i could have done it!! You amaze me!!!

By the way, I have to ask…so what’s in the back packs? I notice the girls have them too. =)

I am sure that was so hard! I still remember my mom crying when she dropped me off and I am amazed you were able to keep them back in front of Easton. Umm, should we not talk about what a heartbreaker he will be?!! He is precious! That cute little smile is too much!

Okay, my heart literally skipped a beat when I saw him climbing onto the bus! I’m proud of you for taking this so well…I’ve been trying to figure out how I can homeschool them without letting Brock know!!! (oh and Easton is totally rockin’ the Zandy Bands!!)

Too precious!! Love the new casa too!

Silhouette Craft

My friend Bethany and I were discussing how much we loved the little black and white silhouettes that you see around now.  She told me about a blog she knew about that had just done a cheaper, homemade version of the silhouettes.  I had just found some vintage frames from a yard sale in Jenks for a...

First Haircuts.

We took Emmy and Cohen to get their first haircuts a week or so ago.  Yes, my daugher is almost 4 and my son is 1 1/2 and they have never had a haircut.  No, not because I am all sentimental about cutting their hair.  Mainly I was just putting it off because I was...

I have the most precious grand-babies in the world. Easton is so handsome and Emmy Grace is such a little princess. Cohen is too cute for words, even though mama says he has a temper, I don’t want to believe it.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again . . . you have some beautiful kiddos! I didn’t realize that Emmy has never had a haircut. I love the pic of her kissing Mike. So precious!

Missy

Love these pics! =) Especially the one of easton…very cool E! Such a beautiful family!! Haircuts are hard…meaning getting the kids to cooperate and getting the hairdresser to understand and follow through with what you want. They chopped Noah’s hair a little too short.

Katie H.

Funny…This is the exact scenario we had with Lane on the day of his first haircut. I was a wreck trying to find a place that specializes in kiddos (thinking it would ba a good experience)all the while ignoring Mark and his suggestion to use his barber. The haircut was alright, but the experience not so much. NOW we go to the barber Mark suggested from the get go. He is SO awesome with little kids (ours anyway, haven’t seen him cut any other kids). So if you are in need of a reference for next time let me know. Sad how haricuts dramatically change the look of our kids. They look so much older now!!

Gina

Ok….I need to see them IMMEDIATELY! It’s been way too long if a post about haircuts is making me tear up! Let’s get together soon.

bethany

Your kiddos melt my heart. Seriously.
