Oklahoma Baked Beans.

A week or so after we moved into our new house, my husband delicately informed me that “I didn’t cook very much anymore.”  Of course I did what any self-respecting housewife of America does when her husband says something about her cooking (or lack of cooking), I got SUPER DEFENSIVE and probably bit his head...

Recipe of the Week

I know that everyone is shocked that I am posting a NON-DESSERT recipe this week.  So here it is…Mexican pinwheels.  A Crosby family favorite and pretty much every kid I know of loves this recipe as well.  As always, if you try it out….leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  And...

I’ve made these once before and they didn’t turn out as pretty as yours did! Thanks for the photos. It will help me to know what they’re supposed to look like the next time I make them! These are very yummy, especially with sour cream, salsa and guacamole.

Valentine’s Day Scrooge

So I admit it.  I was a bit of a Valentine’s Scrooge this year.  OK, OK…so maybe I have always been a bit of a Valentine’s Scrooge.  Dating back to my early years, I have always just felt so much stress and pressure about this Holiday!  Will the cute boy in my class that I...

I heard some loser mom brought cookies to Emerson’s ballet class.. =) In my defense, I was the ONLY mom who didn’t bring a v-day treat to her dance class last year so I did not want to make the same mistake 2 years in a row. You are an amazing mom and you make it look so easy!

Glad you made it home in time to salvage Valentines Day. I’m sure the kiddos didn’t know that they were missing out. Just so you know you did more than I did for my kids! Their grandmother took care of the gifting this year.

I’m just glad to hear that you are finally admitting to cutting the bangs. For YEARS you would deny it. : )

And you are a great mom- this mom felt free to do NOTHING for Valentines. I even lost Brent’s card.

Yes, I definitely think that dressing up your kids in coordinating red outfits and taking Valentine pictures of them, then making dough, cutting it into hearts and making pizza makes you a loser mom. I mean, I can’t believe what a loser you are! OH and remember me, the mom who tried to plan activities that ended in me yelling at my kids that “Christmas was cancelled!”. Okay, we are both losers. But our kids are cute!

Yummy Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

About four years ago Michael wanted cookies and I was completely out of chocolate chips.  I was also out of butter.  So….I made up a recipe using butter flavor crisco, oatmeal, and cinnamon.  No, I don’t normally “make-up” recipes.   I do absolutely love to cook though and it is a dream of mine to...

Ethan and I made these this morning and they are Yummy! I had trouble with the very first batch, but I notoriously suck at cookie making for some reason! I LOVE to cook/bake (especially bake!) and am not half bad, except for cookies. I don’t know! Well, anyway, I don’t have a convection oven so I baked mine at 350 for 10 min and the first batch went flatter than little brown pancakes! I added another 1/4 c flour to the remaining dough and the rest of the cookies were MUCH better! I also had an open bag of butterscotch chips so I added those to the last batch I made. They were very good, too! In the words of Ethan, “they are sooo yummy!” Thanks for the recipe! They were easy, fun and tasty! Love you and love your blog!
